Basic Seamanship Course

Basic Seamanship Course

Over the weekend the unit also held a Basic Seamanship course to cadets who needed to learn the ropes πŸ˜‚, what a good turn out and the weather held off also allowing them to utilise the outside space.

it was too warm for full uniform so unit sports kit was issued and hydration was the key with a few breaks inbetween to aid thier learning.

All cadets enjoyed the day and the pictures show thier skills.

Cadets tuesday evening (14th May 2024) had thier final examination and we are proud to annoucne πŸ“’ Congratulations πŸ₯‡cadets on passing your Basic Seamanship course, Another badge to add to your uniforms 😊

Wow, we have been very greatful and fortunate to recieve £210.82 😁

This morning Carol visited the unit to hand deliver money she has been raising by doing local coffee mornings and knitting sessions with the local community.

We had to get a cheeky picture or our CO Lt A Smith (SCC) RNR, Carol and PO E Burley receiving the money πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

All money will be spent doing something fun with our Cadets during the Summer holidays as a Thank's for thier hard work.

Without support from people like Carol we would struggle to do this so as a unit we are very greatful.

watch out for pictures of what the cadets choose to do with it! - some very interesting idea's im sure will be suggested.

THANK YOU AGAIN from the bottom of our hearts πŸ’–
