Another great weekend for T.S Iron Duke at DMACT in Henley! We had 6 cadets and 4 instructors away on the course!
We came away with some new qualifications too..

1 X basic Catering
1 X Morse Code
2 X basic Navigation
And the 1st half of a 2nd class seamanship

On Friday the Juniors celebrated Chinese New Year.
They Learnt the Chinese zodiac story, looked at what ‘years’ they were and what personality traits were associated with them.
Finally, they ate Chinese food and learnt about the customs of Chinese New year and paraded in a dragon costume - called Dave!

2. Congratulations to PO (SCC) Hawes who, following running a course at DMACT, will now be recommended to be awarded the Meteorology Instructor qualification. This means we will now be able to offer the MET Proficiency to cadets.
3. Congratulations to PPO’s Bioletti, Burchett and Myles for successfully completing their Core Seamanship and Youth Development Modules. All 3 can now progress to their final Adult Core Training module the Basic Leadership Course.
