Sail away!

Sail away!

It sounds like some of our cadets enjoyed fantastic weather while working towards their sailing qualifications at Port Edgar Boat Station! ⛵☀️👏

Boats & Bakes

Boats & Bakes

At the beginning of the month we held a “Boats & Bakes” day involving the cadets going afloat, rowing, kayaking, canoeing and sailing. The parents came along to see what the cadets get up to on the water and enjoy a cuppa and a fine piece after.
Unfortunately it was a rather windy day so sailing was limited but the cadets were taught how to rig the boats. It did give the cadets an understanding of how the weather conditions can change so fast without warning and how to cope with it.
Was a great day ⚓️ 🚣🏻 🛶 ⛵️

Recently our five incredible cadets took part in the district kayaking competition in Peterhead a succesful day was had and they are heading to the Northern Area Paddlesports competion at Loch Winnoch next month.

Royal Navy Parade

Royal Navy Parade

What a truly incredible evening, on Monday the 7th April Stonehaven hosted their biannual Royal Navy parade! Every single cadet turned out looking so smart, polished, and proud — a real credit to the unit and to themselves. The dedication shown in the lead-up to this event has been remarkable.

A special mention to the guards and the piping team, who spent countless hours practising and perfecting their routines beforehand. Your hard work, discipline, and attention to detail absolutely shone through on the night — and Commander Gary Farmer RN was most impressed!

Huge thanks also go to the amazing parents and families who came along to support, cheer, and bring that extra touch of warmth (and cake!) to the evening.

It was a proud moment for all involved — one that truly showcased the spirit, strength, and unity of our Sea Cadet Corps.

Disclaimer: Cadets are taught drill with parade purpose non firing rifles as part of a structured programme of supervised training that teaches commitment and self
discipline.
